These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to BetterBots services, including BetterModeration, BetterModmail, WeatherBot, BetterAI, LotRO Bot, Ashen Stats, ASA, AshenBot, AshenSpecial, Ashen Verify, and related BetterBots bots, websites, tools, and integrations (collectively, the "Services"). "BetterBots," "we," "us," and "our" refer to the operator of the Services. You may contact us through https://betterbots.info.

By inviting, configuring, accessing, or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you use the Services on behalf of a Discord server, community, organization, or other group, you confirm that you have authority to do so.

1. Discord and Third-Party Terms

The Services operate on or with Discord and other third-party platforms. You must comply with Discord's Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, Developer Terms, and any other terms, rules, or policies that apply to your use of Discord or the Services. You are responsible for ensuring that your server's use of the Services complies with applicable laws, platform rules, and your own server policies.

The Services may rely on third-party APIs, hosting providers, payment platforms, artificial intelligence providers, search providers, weather data providers, game/platform APIs, OAuth providers, and other service providers. We are not responsible for third-party services, data, outages, terms, or actions.

2. Server Operator Responsibility

Server owners, administrators, and authorized staff are responsible for how the Services are configured and used in their servers. This includes moderation actions, modmail handling, logging settings, saved messages, notification settings, activity or statistics features, verification workflows, access permissions, and any information provided to users.

The Services may process, store, display, or transmit information on behalf of a server. Users should understand that server staff may be able to view information submitted to or generated by the Services within that server, subject to the server's permissions and configuration.

3. Acceptable Use

You may not use the Services to violate the law, violate Discord's rules, harass or abuse others, spam, exploit security issues, evade moderation or verification systems, interfere with service operation, collect data unlawfully, misrepresent the Services, or attempt to access data or features you are not authorized to access.

We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access to the Services at any time if we believe use of the Services creates risk, violates these Terms, violates platform rules, interferes with operation, or may harm BetterBots, Discord, a server, a user, or a third party.

4. Service Features and Availability

The Services are provided for community administration, moderation, modmail, notifications, weather alerts, AI/search assistance, game/community coordination, statistics, verification, safety, and related purposes. Features may be changed, limited, suspended, or discontinued at any time.

We do not guarantee that the Services will be available, uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every server configuration. Discord API changes, third-party outages, permission changes, network problems, configuration errors, or maintenance may cause the Services to fail, behave unexpectedly, lose data, or stop working.

5. Moderation, Verification, and Safety Records

Some Services are designed to create or retain moderation, verification, safety, abuse-prevention, audit, operational, or anti-evasion records. These records may be necessary for server safety, enforcement history, investigation, dispute handling, abuse prevention, or continued operation of the Services.

Submitting a request under these Terms does not automatically require removal of records that are needed for moderation, safety, legal compliance, auditability, dispute resolution, service operation, or protection of other users, moderators, servers, or communities. Privacy requests are handled under the BetterBots Privacy Policy.

6. AI, Search, and Generated Output

AI, search, summarization, proofreading, export, and generated-response features may be inaccurate, incomplete, delayed, offensive, or unsuitable for your intended use. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying any output before relying on it, posting it, acting on it, or using it for moderation, safety, legal, financial, medical, or other important decisions.

You are responsible for the content you submit to AI, search, or export features and for ensuring you have permission to process or share that content.

7. Weather and Alert Services

WeatherBot and any weather, alert, or emergency-related features are informational only and are not official warning systems. They are intended for weather enthusiasts and convenience use. They must not be your only source of information or the basis for personal safety decisions.

Always rely on official weather, emergency, government, and public-safety sources for decisions involving safety, property, travel, sheltering, or emergency response. BetterBots assumes no responsibility or liability for faults, errors, delays, missed alerts, incomplete alerts, inaccurate alerts, third-party data issues, or decisions made from alert information.

8. Paid Features

Some Services may offer paid, VIP, subscription, premium, or limited-access features. Payments are handled through Discord or other third-party payment platforms. BetterBots does not process or store payment card information.

Paid features may change, be added, be removed, or be discontinued. Unless required by applicable law or the payment platform's rules, payments are non-refundable.

9. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how BetterBots collects, uses, stores, shares, and handles data. By using the Services, you also agree to the Privacy Policy. If these Terms and the Privacy Policy conflict, the Privacy Policy controls for privacy-specific matters.

10. No Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. We disclaim all warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, security, reliability, and error-free operation.

We do not warrant moderation outcomes, server outcomes, alert delivery, AI output, search results, third-party data, integrations, data retention, data recovery, or that the Services will meet your needs.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BetterBots will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, loss of goodwill, business interruption, moderation disputes, server disruption, missed alerts, inaccurate alerts, AI output, third-party failures, or unauthorized access, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BetterBots' total liability for any claim relating to the Services will not exceed the amount you paid directly to BetterBots for the Services giving rise to the claim during the three months before the event giving rise to the claim, or 100 U.S. dollars, whichever is greater.

12. Indemnification

To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless BetterBots and its operators, service providers, and affiliates from and against claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from or relating to your use or misuse of the Services, your server configuration, your moderation or administrative decisions, your content, your violation of these Terms, your violation of law or third-party rights, or your violation of platform rules.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be posted or linked through the Services or https://betterbots.info. Continued use of the Services after updates become effective means you accept the updated Terms.

14. General Terms

These Terms are governed by applicable laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining parts remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later. These Terms do not create any partnership, employment, agency, or joint venture relationship.
